CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER ATRIUM AERIAL SCULPTURE
Installed Fall 2008
The sculpture consists of over 500 optically clear acrylic tubes, three inches in diameter and 12 feet long. The tubing is painted on the inside with acrylic paints, with panels of dichroic glass secured within. Also, there are hanging acrylic spheres, painted from within, with panels of dichroic glass secured inside the sphere. The sculpture is positioned to take advantage of the light exposure from the south facing glass curtain wall which fills the atrium with multi-colored light.
